Remote Production in 60 Seconds

I have been remotely producing artists since 2018. In 2022, my work helped bring Weezer a Grammy Nomination in the Best Rock Song category for “All My Favorite Songs”.

Remote production is producing a recording from a different location than where the physical work is being done. It’s less expensive, less time restrictive and more practical than working in person.

The only difference between remote production and working in person is that we are not in the same room while we work together. You are in the studio of your choice, perhaps in a different time zone or country.

I navigate and coach you through pre-production, recording, editing, mixing, mastering or whatever help you are seeking. We work in real time, using Zoom, Facetime or Skype for video chats, and Source Connect or Sessionwire for remote recording sessions. We work via email when exchanging pre-production, song analysis notes and sound files.

Pre-Production in 60 Seconds

From Soundgarden’s “Superunknown”, to Marilyn Manson’s “Mechanical Animals”, to Korn’s “Untouchables”, there’s always one constant on my greatest records. That constant is pre-production, because it’s the gold standard that can make a good record great, and a great record, amazing.

Pre-production is the preparation stage before recording begins. It’s when an album is thought out, songs are composed, arranged and improved (or scrapped), and performances are perfected. Pre-production is hard work, but it gives back far more than what you put in.

Pre-production is like the foundation of a house. If the foundation is weak, it doesn’t matter how good the house looks- it will eventually collapse. Most projects don’t utilize pre-production anymore, but I feel it’s the most important phase of a recording.

I offer remote production and pre-production in many forms to suit your needs. I work remotely- via video chat, phone and email, and in person. I’m excited to help bring your project to life through these life-changing processes, available to you right now.
